Captain Wails and The Harpoons

Captain Wails and the Harpoons are a rock Trio from the industrial midwestern city Rockford, IL. The band features Rusty Wails on guitar and vocals, Skitch Patterson on drums, and Tofu Biggins on bass. All of the members share the experience of growing up in a fading manufacturing city and struggling to break free from smothering poverty. Captain Wails embodies American happiness, struggle, let down, and triumph and exhibits a playful empathy toward the ridiculous fear that shrouds American politics and economics. Hopeful for the future of personal expression, each member works tirelessly to support and nurture a diverse music community at home while traveling, supporting, and growing with bands across America.

Since 2014, Captain Wails and The Harpoons have taken their act on the road, reaching thousands of great people in many diverse places and independently releasing two albums. The first album, “The Long Year”, released on vinyl in 2014, shares the experience of losing a loved one and the difficulty endured while putting lives back together. The Second, “The Lively Sea”, released on CD in 2015, shares the experiences of healing broken hearts and friendships while finding strength to move ahead in the random kindness and compassion of humanity.

Recently, Captain Wails and the harpoons have moved their port of operations to Salem, Oregon; mostly to avoid ridiculous midwestern snow fall. The band continues to grow its fanbase, recording and writing new music while constantly planning events and producing great new video content for fans. Captain Wails plans to tour veraciously, working endlessly booking shows to reach fans across America. Its all about the music for the fans. The Captain has many great fans who make it possible for the band to tour and release music and Rusty, Skitch, and Tofu can not express enough how grateful they are to all of their fans. Come out and join the dance party, it never ends and everyone is welcome. Rock, Punk, Party! Captain Wails and The Harpoons.
